There is a long-term program involving a complete overhaul of enterprise systems - content management, ERP, data warehouse, Business Intelligence/reporting etc. The position of Information Architect has come about due to the scope of the program and extent of work involved. Key responsibilities include: Developing vision, strategy, policy, principles and standards to address information/data management needs Developing reference architecture eg enterprise achitecture work addressing information management lifecycle management, master data management and enterprise content management, portal, enterprise search Unstructured data/content/document management strategy Taxonomies/controlled vocabulary classification Developing data/information governance strategy, frameworks etc The role will involve proactively “selling” new frameworks, strategies etc to business units, so a high level of confidence and excellent communication/presentation skills are essential. In addition you will need: Experience in an Enterprise Information Architecture role Experience developing strategies and frameworks around information management, content management, data dictionaries, data governance Strong technical background in relational database management This is a highly engaging role in a complex and constantly changing business environment, so you will need to learn fast, be a quick thinker, demonstrate a pro-active nature and present exceptionally well.
