(IT) Middleware Production Support Engineer

Middleware Production Support Engineer required for our client, a top-tier UK Asset Management firm, based in Singapore. Production Support Engineer As a member of the production support Team you will monitor, support and maintain production Middleware technology and infrastructure. adhering to the architectural guidelines and policies. Provide and maintain Middleware & application interfaces to allow Technology groups to facilitate the timely exchange of essential business information with internal & external counterparties. Respond to alerts using standard procedures to fix incidents and problems controlled by the team, escalating to the appropriate application team when the issues go beyond the normal process. You will also be required to support the testing environments and release management for changes created by developers through these test environments into production. Scripting skills will be required to maintain the monitoring and alerting scripts that provide alerts to HP openview. Key Responsibilities § Provide 7×24 global support (rotational on-call) for the messaging environments (MQ, WBI, GlobalShare, SWIFT, Gateway Services, Data Feeds, Exception handling). § Install, configure, administer and support Websphere MQ (MQSeries) and Websphere Message Broker (MQSI) software including the GlobalShare application components that run in this environment. § Advise on architecture; design; performance and capacity of the Middleware environments. § Production deployments through release management the components of the messaging environment including components of the GlobalShare application. § Develop, document and implement contingency plans § Devise, document, implement and perform operational procedures Technical/Functional Specifications § Extensive Websphere MQ (MQSeries) administration experience on Unix, preferably Sun Solaris. § Websphere Message Broker (MQSI) administration experience § WebLogic administration experience preferred § Solaris Unix Administration and Windows administration & performance tuning experience. § Provide 7×24 support (on-call) Investment Knowledge Good Communication Skills § Good Analytical Skills § Team player § Proficient in Scripting in the following languages, Korn, Perl, Java is a plus § Working knowledge of SWIFT Messages would be a significant advantage Reporting Relationships The position will report to UK Design and Development Manager. The successful candidate will work with IT and business managers throughout the organisation.
