(IT) Project Team Leader - Application Development Team

* Canberra Location. Leading International Consulting House. Work with my client s major customers. Negotiable Salary Package. Position Summary: My client is looking to appoint a Project Team Leader to manage the Application Development Team. This role is responsible for the implementation, cost, schedule, quality of projects, DB2 Upgrades (including Metrics gathering and reporting) delivered as per the requirements of the contractual agreement. The Project Team Leader must ensure (by working with the Dispatcher and Release Test Manager) that any Transition to Support activities are undertaken for the projects. The Project Team Leader will be required to stand in for the Dispatcher when on holidays. Major Areas of Responsibility: 1. Ensure suitable requirements are supplied to enable project execution. 2. Manage any variations to requirements via change control process, eg meetings, re-estimation, formal advice back to Stakeholders. Costs/Budget: Ensures that proposed project work is properly costed and estimated, assumptions and risks are documented and/or logged, and that effective risk mitigation strategy is communicated and executed within budget and timeframes. Achieves financial performance targets, specifically actuals against estimates tracking and reporting. Scheduling: Manages/delivery special initiatives by acquiring additional or specialised resources, personnel and equipment, by escalating needs to the Dispatcher, to ensure project timeframes, goals and budgets are met. Effectively forecasts project schedules and determines role/skills required for a project, then negotiates access to appropriate staff for delivery. That negotiation takes place with the AES Dispatcher or other team leads as required. Required Skill Set/Background: Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology or Business. Industry recognised technical certification relevant to the applications under support. Experience in leading an applications development team. Hands on technical work in an applications project development environment.
