(IT) Java Team Leader $120k+

Location: Sydney   

As a senior member of client’s Java development team and Team Leader, you will use your expert Human Resource management capabilities to oversee a diverse team of Java/JSP developers with all levels of experience and skill sets. You will be responsible to oversee and lead the team to develop applications that support the management and distribution of content through the Content Management System. Additionally, you will have hands on coding responsibility to develop Web applications using Java/JSP and Object Oriented programming techniques. You will contribute to and from time to time lead the Java standards group. You will also develop and maintain applications to support a variety of Web interfaces. You will optimize code to increase throughput, availability, scalability, redundancy, superior performance and quick recoverability. We seek candidates with the following skills, knowledge and experience: Experience building/managing/deploying large scale Enterprise Content Management systems 5+ years solid development experience with OO Java/JSP in a dynamic, fast-paced application development environment. Mastery or in-depth experience with some or all of the following: Eclipse, MyEclipse, Subversion, Atlassian Bamboo, JIRA or Tango, Confluence, Maven 2, Hibernate, Spring, modern Web frameworks (such as Struts 2, Spring MVC, JSF), JUnit, SpringMock, Selenium, JMeter, Log4J, Tomcat 5.5, Detailed design experience with Oracle. Be able to write, in English, architectural documentation, Proof of Concept documentation (as required), and Class and method-level JavaDoc. Experience with Linux (primarily Red Hat) and Solaris. At least one secondary language (Perl, PHP, Ruby, etc). Extensive experience working with 3rd party applications and APIs. Extensive experience building within existing application framework.
