(IT) SQL Server DBA

Rate: Commensurate With Experience   Location: Adelaide   

Our client has an urgent requirement for an experienced SQL Server DBA to be part of a cross functional team supporting up to 33,000 users. The technical environment covers a variety of technologies however you will be focused on SQL Server and the Microsoft Suite of corporate products. Within this challenging role, you would be expected to perform lead database administration duties on the corporate SQL Server database environments, including the creation and maintenance of quality documentation for operational support. You will perform lead database support for the application environment including problem investigation, diagnosis reporting and resolution implementation. This is a leadership role, where you will have a team of database administrators for operational support duties reporting to you. To be successful in this role, you will have: Significant experience in the Database Administration of a complex SQL Server environment. Significant experience in the use of integration tools for the transfer of data between database environments, for example, DTS/SIS. Demonstrated working knowledge of security issues at application, operating system and networking levels of a complex information technology environment. Demonstrated experience in, and commitment to, the use and support of project management methodologies. Additionally, it is desirable that you have: Knowledge of SQL Server 2005 in a clustered implementation Knowledge of Microsoft .NET development environment Familiarity with other Microsoft technologies such as Biztalk, Sharepoint, Workflow, Exchange administration Familiarity with Cognos Business Intelligence suite.
