(IT) Java Development Manager/Technical Lead - Investment Bank/Trading Syst

Rate: 130k + Banking Bonus   Location: Sydney CBD, New South Wales   

Development Manager/Team Lead - Java OO systems Global Investment Bank/Equities Trading systems area $130-150K + Banking Bonus Equities IT Trading systems of this leading global investment bank requires a Technical Team Leader/Development Manager. The Development Manager will be co-located with the business in a fast paced and changing trading systems environment. The Development Manager will be responsible for the design, delivery and implementation of new systems, functionality and enhancements to trading systems across Equities IT. You will interact closely with the business to determine requirements, propose solutions and provide status reporting. You will be responsible for division and allocation of tasks to the team. You will need to have strong problem solving abilities and a keen interest and experience in Java programming and OO design. It will also be advantageous to have an interest in trading systems - Equities, Derivatives, Hedge Funds, CFD’s etc , Finance and/or Mathematics.Ideally you will have:Excellent knowledge of Java and Object Oriented software development - including the design & afrchitecture of complex OO systems Java experience using J2EE technologies Good analysis experience and technical implementation skills Experience delivering solutions within a growth industry Experience with application integration and production support Mature approach and ability to assume responsibility for projects and tasks Excellent communication and problem solving skills Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast paced environment Financial markets experience is desirable but not imperativeUniversity degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent Strong project management experience Experience leading small development teams, including setting priorities, monitoring progress and re-prioritising as necessary Suitable candidates will have at least 4-5 years experience managing teams, projects and project/development streams in a large, complex blue-chip systems environment. Typical team size will be vary between 3 - 6 Developers & candidates will be required to influence & deliver at senior business & technology stakeholder level. Prior financial markets experience is of benefit but not imperative. Candidates may have come from similar high availability OO systems environments, leading teams, for example - consultancy/consulting , defence, telecoms, insurance, software houses etc.To apply online, please click on the appropriate link below.
