(IT) Unix Systems Administrator - Solaris + Perl

They are embarking on a massive growth phase to support there long-term exciting projects and strategic acquisitions. This role will enable you to take ownership of the companies Unix infrastructure. SCOPE: Ensure monitoring for hosts and applications is in place and functioning. System and Network Performance Tunning. On call escalated support. Advise with the configuration and maintenance of network security for the production systems. Monitor and Maintain production network availability. Assess and Evaluate hardware and system software. Assist with deployment of new infrastructure as and when required. Provide assistance to developers to help diagnose network or system related issues. Maintain nd monitor SAN. Ensure that backups are being properly conducted ie testing. Keeping procedures and knowledge base up to date. ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Solaris 10. Perl Programming. Linux Administration. Sound knowledge in building resilient TCP/IP Networks. DESIRABLE SKILLS: Sun SAN Storage Device Management 6140,6130. MYSQL. Cisco Network Device Management. IPSEC, BGP, VLAN, ACL’s GRE. Windows System Administration. You will be working closely with all departments and Managers, other co-members within the company and the suppliers/clients.
