(IT) Voice Network Engineer

Location: Sydney Inner, New South Wales   

“My client is currently seeking an experienced Voice Network Engineer to join the Sydney-based technical team”. “The successful candidate must be self-managing and have the ability to multitask and triage competing demands on their time and skills. They must be able to adapt to changing circumstances, problem solve, work within a constantly moving corporate environment and thrive under pressure. Their ability to effectively communicate cross-culturally is essential” Responsibilities: Provide second line phone/email/fax consultation to independently debug complex product problems. Provide systems/product training. Acts as a focal point for large account network problem resolution. Acts as a technical expert. Provided support on a world-wide basis. Receives minimal supervision. Receives no instruction on routine work and general instruction on new assignments. Ability to analyze, use and configure small to medium networks. Proven crisis management skills. Requirements: In-depth knowledge of IP telephony and strong operating experience in at least one of the following area’s of specialization: IP Telephony ( Cisco Call Manager , Unity ), Call Centre (IPCC), Video , Voice gateways. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Exchange Demonstrated knowledge TCP/IP fundamentals are absolutely required. Knowledge of and experience with routing protocols, QoS, VPN and IPv6 is desirable. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, the ability to handle critical customer issues in crisis situations, and the ability to work under pressure are all required. Demonstrated ability to work in a team, provide training, and mentor other engineers. You will also have access to our state-of-the-art lab, where we can recreate customer issues using a wide selection of both networking and test equipment, in a supportive environment Typically requires BS in CS or EE or equivalent plus. 2-5 years related experience. CCIE desired. Strong skills in Microsoft Active Directory 2000/2003. MCSE 2000/2003.
