(IT) Operations Team Lead/2IC (S8)

Rate: To $110k Base + Super ($120k Package)   Location: Sydney, New South Wales   

My client is one of Australia’s most respected Federal Government Departments with several sites based throughout the country The have currently undergone a major migration from Novell to Microsoft products and are looking for a Senior Server/Network Engineer specialist to assist with their BAU support and some interesting/outstanding project work Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is a major Operations Team Lead/2IC (Technical Advisor) role with real potential due to a stream of ‘major project’s’ throughout 2008/2009 to include: Server Upgrades, Desktop Re-Fresh, SOE Build, Citrix Upgrade, Smart Phone implementation, Back-up projects etc. You will be operating at Operations T eam Lead/2IC/(Senior Level) and within the capacity of ” Technical Advisor ” to the Operations Manager. The role will act as lead to a small team of 5 permanent staff which capabilities to hire new contractors as the projects get underway. Skills are required in: Strong Active Directory experience Expertise in MS Exchange Server Ability to write and maintain documentation and reference manuals Communicate with Helpdesk Services, Technology Clients, External Service Providers etc Ability to troubleshoot network problems within a Microsoft environment Provide proactive advice on how end users can improve/optimise their use of systems Participate in projects as required MCSE and CCNA certification ARE MANDATORY ITIL Certification will be highly regarded Excellent communication skills Salary to $110k Base + Super ($120k Package) This is a major opportunity to work within an exciting new role which is involved in projects over the next 18 months to 2 years.
