(IT) Senior UNIX Engineer, HP-UX, SE location


Our client, a global IT consultancy, has a role as a UNIX systems engineer specialising in HP-UX. The position will involve working independently to deliver full range of UNIX production support to their clients.Technical Competencies.Experience with HP-UX 9/10/11 and general UNIX administration Good knowledge of HP hardware platforms SAN management and configuration Clustering, Veritas Cluster and Volume Manager NetBackup, Data Protector Documentation.Advantages, knowledge of: Solaris AIX General knowledge of storage subsystems such as IBM Shark, EMC.Key Responsibilities Accountable and responsible for:- Operational availability of UNIX environment (HPUX 11i, HPUX 10.20, Linux). Backups, restores and tape management (Symantec/Veritas, Netbackup) Account creation, and management of the account creation process. Security of UNIX systems, and response to audit.
