(IT) Network Administrator


Melbourne based. CBD fringe. Permanent, upto $100k package. Network Administrator. Our client is a prestigious company in the Web services environment. They are seeking a highly experienced Network Administator. The role is primarily focused on providing system management and administration support of the production network in a 24×7 environment. As a secondary role the Network Administrator is to assist in the maintenance tasks of the associated Unix (Linux) production Servers. This role has accountability for system performance, stability and useability on a day-to-day basis. The ideal candidate will hail from production support environment and will be responsible for maintaining the network including: managing system resources. Security. System updates and software upgrades/ patches. Performance monitoring and capacity planning. IP Addressing. Skills (required): networking skills (TCP/IP, Routing etc). Strong Cisco skills, BGP, OSPF. PIX Firewalls. CCNA qualification. At least 5 years experience in managing and maintaining a large, 24×7 Cisco based network. Strong DNS, DHCP skills. Strong Solaris Unix administration skills. Linux experience (RedHat/Mandrake). Web based Unix applications (Sendmail, Bind, Apache, Tomcat). Strong Shell Scripting.
